Wrinkles are synonymous to aging. The skin loses its elasticity because of some factors. Wrinkles are creases and folds on the skin which most often start on the face.
There are various factors that cause wrinkles. Over exposure to the sun with its UV rays, harsh winds and pollution damage the skin when elastin, the fibers of the skin decline in number. An unhealthy lifestyle "wrong diet, excessive smoking and poor hydration (lack of water needed by the body) is sure to bring these unwanted lines on the skin. Loss of minerals and nutrients, particularly Vitamin E is responsible for the outbreak of wrinkles. All these factors decrease the production of connective tissues of the skin " elastin and collagen, which are responsible for elasticity of the skin.
Wrinkles are a big issue to both men and women. It changes ones physical appearance and causes lack of self-confidence, or self-esteem, because of the feeling of becoming less attractive and less desirable.
How can wrinkles be treated? Nature has its own remedies to rid of wrinkles. Eating salmon thrice a week, dark orange vegetables like carrots are some. Sweet potatoes which contain hyaluronic acid could be a solution. Natural anti-aging skin care is most recommended. It is natural, affordable and safe. There are no side effects " no bruises, no pain. Complex facial exercise can also be considered. But all these prove to be temporary panacea for wrinkles.
Science has now discovered solutions. Everybody knows what a facelift is. It is a surgery done by plastic surgeons; they literally remove excess skin from the face and the neck. After the surgery, facial muscles are tightened allowing the skin to be lift. Unluckily, the method is costly and is not covered by insurance. Plus it really does hurt, because you will really go under the knife.
But did you know that there is a painless, bloodless, convenient way to wipe out wrinkles? It is the non surgical facelift. As of now, there are 6 techniques of a non surgical facelift:
1. Laser therapy " uses a tool called a wand, it erases fine lines on the face through infrared technology. Red or white skin blemishes may appear but this should not be a cause of worry.
2. Botox injections " the more popular one uses injections to stop the contraction of muscles. This brings elasticity to the skin, making it smoother. But effect lasts to four months and after that, you would need another round. Sometimes, the skin is over-stretched that it deforms the eyes, nose or lips.
3. Chemical peels " when applied, removes the outer layer of the skin. The skin then becomes thin and is prone to damage.
4. Dermabrasion " uses a spinning brush and sands the skin, removing the outer layer to allow growth of a new, smoother skin. There is presence of scabs and redness that takes months to disappear.
5. Anti-wrinkle solutions " these are oils with antioxidants that guards the skin from free radicals. One main element is lemon oil which transports back the glow to your skin.
6. Topical retinoids - gel from Vitamin A which reduces unsightly wrinkles and balances the skin tone. After treatment, a patient is required to use sunscreen or don protective clothing because there is a greater risk for sunburn.
All six measures have been clinically verified to remove or if not, minimize the fine lines, creases and folds on the skin. A glowing, youthful appearance on your face is will surprise you.
Ask your doctor about possible skin treatments for your wrinkles. And dont just ask any doctor, you need a professional dermatologist to ensure that it is safe for you.
Some would hate looking at their own faces in the mirror. Still others would want to run away from the public eye. But with your wrinkles disappeared, it will be no longer a trouble to say hello to the world again.
