Liposuction is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures available to today's consumers. And one of the first things taken into consideration are the variety of liposuction prices. There have been many advances in technology recently that apply to the cosmetic industry. But liposuction in particular has benefited from the advances in laser technology.

Liposuction has been effected so much that the word has a wider definition than it had in previous years. There's a wider variety of options for interested consumers. And this wider variety of options brings with it a wider price range. So looking into liposuction prices isn't the same old story that it used to be.

Liposuction prices can vary widely depending upon what type of liposuction is being considered. So make sure to define the exact procedure details before comparing prices from one provider to another. New, advanced technology has created an entirely new set of terms that pop up when considering liposuction prices such as SlimLipo and SmartLipo. These terms are popping up in an attempt to redefine the procedures that are an evolved form of the traditional liposuction.

SlimLipo refers to the way in which the procedure is performed. The Slim of SlimLipo stands for selective laser induced melting. SlimLipo is far more effective than the traditional liposuction procedure. It also requires much less time for recovery and results in far less pain.

SlimLipo accesses the very latest laser technology. It targets fat in very specific areas to rid patients of it in the most efficient, thorough way possible. The new procedures have created more options and more variance in the liposuction prices that are out there to consider.

The evolved liposuction procedure known as SlimLipo is far more effective at treating smaller areas due to the very specific nature of the laser. It can also be used in large areas. So it is an effective treatment for almost any areas: knees, chin, back, upper arms, ankles, buttocks, hips, etc. SlimLipo liposuction prices vary...mostly depending upon two things: 1. the area being treated (size) and 2. the fat being removed (amount).

There are many myths about cellulite. So many people have spread untrue "facts" regarding cellulite that thousands of women do everything they can to try and prevent it, only to have it crop up anyway. It's crucial to present what's actually true about cellulite. There's no other way to learn what's really true regarding the nature of cellulite.

Myth 1: Soda pop causes cellulite (yes, this was an early and nearly believable idea). Theorists thought cellulite could be created when the sodium found in sodas caused fat cells to swell. That myth is false. Cellulite is made up of fat cells, but they are deformed cells trapped in the connective tissue that is just beneath the skin.

Myth 2: Only people over the age of 40 get cellulite. Although cellulite may be easier to spot on older skin because it is thinner, a person of any age can have it.

3. Cellulite is often misunderstood, so it isn't surprising that many people believe the myth that cellulite can only occur on the thighs and buttocks. While this is the most common area for cellulite to occur, it can also appear on the arm, neck and stomach.

4. Myth tells us that cellulite only happens to people who have weight problems. This can give thinner people a false sense of security regarding their safety. However, no matter how fit you are, fat cells are in your body, so cellulite can happen to them.

Myth 5: You can get rid of cellulite by dieting and exercising. Due to the make up of cellulite, this is also false. Other fat in the body can be burned by the increase in metabolism a person gets through dieting and exercise. But cellulite is not affected by the metabolic process since it is trapped in the connective tissues.

There are the more popular cellulite myths out there. A lot of people use these myths to sell cellulite removal products and make money off people. You can save yourself a lot of trouble and time by knowing what's true and what isn't.

Many aestheticians coming from the day spa industry into the medical spa environment have to learn a whole new way of documentation as a client now transforms into a patient.

Aestheticians who are used to time and date stamping treatments with occasional side or progress notes, now are expected to chart everything they say and do during a patient's treatment. Along with charting comes treatment consent forms, HIPPA Forms, photography consent forms, payment agreement forms, anatomical charting forms, etc.

Medical Aestheticians who have any contact with a patient as any part of their treatment, should be charting everything from follow-up calls, to topical treatments used and the patient's response, to laser settings, test patch tests, follow up appointments, and the patient's tolerances to treatments.

As a new medical aesthetician, your day spa 'client' files have now been transformed into a legal medical records which could need to stand up in a court of law. Some new medical aestheticians I have spoken with have not yet learned to correctly chart and feel they should not be required to.

Why is it patient charting so important? Unfortunately, there have been more recent horror stories hitting the media than stories of healing and hope, especially when it comes to medical spa therapies that involve lasers and IPLs. These circumstances are a catalyst of change to medical laser laws across the U.S. Whether the MD is on site or off site, they (along with the medical esthetician) can be held responsible for any legal implications filed by a patient at the hands of a clinician, laser technician, or medical Esthetician.

While it may seem harsh, even the most skilled and brilliant esthetician should be terminated if they refuse to properly chart and document a patient's care. The rule of thumb is just this... if you didn't chart it, it didn't happen.

If you're a medical esthetician performing medical treatments it's up to you to know what your medical spas requirements are around patient charting and what potential problems exist if you fail to live up to these new requirements.

Medical Spa MD is a medical community of Plastic Surgeons, Cosmetic Dermatologists, and Aesthetic Physicians with more than 4,200 medical spa members. Medical Spa MD offers wholesale Botox online and offers information on nonsurgical cosmetic medical technologies and treatments.

It may sound like something out of a science fiction novel, but in the world of modern medicine laser surgery is becoming a popular and powerful choice for dealing with a number of different medical conditions. Some of the most cutting edge uses of lasers and focused light are for the Laser Acne Treatment. Lasers can be used to burn off the outer layers of skin where acne is, or they can penetrate below the surface of the skin and deal with the underlying causes of acne.

The only real disadvantage to laser acne treatments is that they can be difficult to get and difficult to afford. They're often only used for people with severe acne problems -you'll have to ask a doctor or dermatologist if laser acne treatment would be a good option for you. Also, laser acne treatments are generally considered to be cosmetic procedures, so many insurance companies won't cover them. This can make it difficult for most people to afford having it done.

For those who do have access to laser acne treatments, there are a few different options to choose from. Some laser treatments target glands under the skin called the sebaceous glands. These glands are responsible for secreting the oil that can cause acne. The laser targets them and actually damages them, which makes them produce less oil.

Other types of laser treatments target the bacteria that cause acne inflammation, referred to in the medical community as Propionibacterium acens, or P. acnes. This type of laser treatment can also help to smooth out the skin's overall texture and repair acne scars. It is a powerful combined approach that can really change the way a person looks.

To get more specific, there are different types of lasers that are used in these different procedures. Each laser uses a different approach to do its job. The first type of laser is called the blue light laser. One of the advantages of this treatment is that it's painless, but it must be done over the course of multiple sessions. Unfortunately, acne tends to spread rapidly so these treatments must be undergone regularly to keep it at bay. There is a new version of blue light therapy on the horizon that combines blue and red lights, and it may be even more effective than blue light alone.

The second type of laser treatment works through pulsed green-yellow lights combined with heat energy. The combination of these two factors help shrink the sebaceous glands, thus making them produce less oil. This type of treatment can be used to treat moderate acne outbreaks, but more severe outbreaks may be out of its reach. The only known side effect of this treatment is that it causes the affected areas to be reddened for a brief time.

The last type of laser used in acne laser treatments is the diode laser. These lasers pierce the outer layer of skin and destroy sebaceous glands without damaging the outermost skin layers. This treatment, unlike the others, can be quite painful. However, doctors generally provide some sort of painkiller to dull the pain during treatment. Like the pulsed light treatment, the diode laser can cause redness and also swelling. However, it provides some of the best acne reduction after a couple of treatments.

by Tom Jenkins

One of the most often overlooked aspects of getting a tummy tuck is that the patient will need a compression garment to aid in their recovery. With all of the other factors to consider, it is easy to see why patients fail to consider it. As such, this article is going to describe what a compression garment is and the benefits of using one.

These garments, which are also referred to as abdominal binders, are designed to provide support to your surgical areas. The garments apply pressure to the swollen areas, which in effect minimizes movement.

In addition to ensuring minimal movement, the compression garment also helps the body's blood circulation. This aspect of the garment helps the body to heal faster.

Yet another benefit is that the compression garment helps your skin to conform to its new contours. Additionally, the increased pressure helps the body to rid itself of toxic and excess fluids.

At this point, it is important to note that a compression garment is a medical instrument. There is a reason we bring this point up. We have known people, who in an attempt to save money will try to find a cheaper alternative by procuring non medical grade compression garments.

Now, you may be asking yourself, why is that a bad thing? Failure to use medical grade garments can actually delay your healing, and in some cases, make you worse. This is because the non medical garments cannot retain their ability to apply pressure the surgical area for a prolonged period of time.

While having a longer recovery time is not necessarily bad in itself, the fact is there is a correlation between having a longer recovery time and having a higher probability of having more noticeable scars.

Now that you have learned a little more about compression garments, we hope you will take the time to decide which tummy tuck compression garment is right for you. As we have shown, it is imperative that you choose wisely. Your decision should be based on which garment will help you heal the best and not on which garment is the cheapest.

by Samantha Trese

There's nothing new concerning rhinoplasty as a plastic surgery procedure. Plastic surgeons have been doing them for decades. However there is increasing popularity in a certain niche type of rhinoplasty specifically Asian rhinoplasty surgery. This increasing popularity is due to the large number of Asians arriving in America and desiring a more Western look to fit in. Of course the cosmetic surgeons are more than happy to provide them with precisely what they want.

Those of you reading this thinking about getting an Asian rhinoplasty should know that the entire cost will be paid by you. Rhinoplasty is thought of as an elective surgery by insurance companies and they do not foot the costs. The only reason an insurance company will pay for your Asian rhinoplasty is if you have a medical breathing condition. So in many cases you will be paying for your own rhinoplasty.

After reconciling yourself to the cost, if you're still thinking of Asian rhinoplasty then it's necessary for you to do a bit of research of your own. You should find a good cosmetic surgeon who can do a good job on your nose. The last thing you need is a bad rhinoplasty. Take the time to find out if there have been any complaints filed against the plastic surgeon you're thinking of using and certainly get referrals if you can.

Another thing to think of is how much of a change you're looking for. With your Asian facial features you don't need to make too radical of a change or you could end up looking freakish. Generally a bit of narrowing of the nostrils is a good decision, but be careful you don't go too far. If you narrow the nostrils excessively it will appear completely obvious that you have had rhinoplasty and you could end up drawing stares that you don't desire.

Frequently when folks hear the phrase elective surgery they equate that with safe and even though that is partially accurate you should never feel that any surgery is completely safe. Make certain you speak to the cosmetic surgeon concerning any possible risks or complications prior to your surgery. Even though knowing the risks won't make them go away it can assist you in making a better choice about your Asian rhinoplasty and may sidestep any unnecessary surprises.

Once your rhinoplasty is completed the only ones who should be able to tell you've had a rhinoplasty are those who knew you before to the operation. Everyone else will meet you for the first time and simply see a beautiful person without a clue that any kind of plastic surgery was ever performed.

While there are several liposuction techniques available to the general public, the tumescent liposuction method is fast becoming the procedure of choice. As a result, we plan on describing the benefits associated with this medical procedure.

Before we begin, we cant stress enough that anyone considering this procedure needs to understand it should not be used as a weight loss tool. If the potential patient is able to remove the excess fat deposits via a nutrition and exercise regimen, he or she should do so. This procedure is designed to remove hard to eliminate fatty deposits and not vanity pounds.

During the actual tumescent liposuction, the plastic surgeon injects a large amount of a lidocaine and epinephrine solution into the fatty deposits. This results in the patients capillaries shrinking, which results in significantly less blood loss.

After the patients fatty deposits have swollen, the plastic surgeon uses a micro cannula to remove the deposits. As most people have no idea what a cannula is, it is a reed like device.

Many liposuction surgeons prefer the tumescent liposuction method because of the advantages it has over the traditional form of lipo. The primary advantage is that this procedure uses local anesthesia (in the form of the lidocaine solution). As a general rule, local anesthesia is usually significantly safer than using general anesthesia.

The second benefit of this procedure is reduced bruising and swelling. This is due to the minimal blood loss, which results from the shrinking capillaries during the procedure. Additionally, there is a large amount of post-operative draining after the procedure.

The third benefit is that since general anesthesia is not used, the patient can go home that day. This means that you will have to pay less out of your pocket for an overnight hospital stay. It also means that since you are conscious during the procedure, you can move, which allows the cosmetic surgeon to better contour your body.

The last thing that we need to mention before we conclude this article is that once you leave the hospital, the remaining anesthesia will still be in your body for the next 24 hours. Therefore, please ensure you plan a few days of rest after your operation to ensure you properly recuperate.

With the price of medical care seeming to scale new heights each day, financing alternatives are often needed. Fortunately, we will discuss some available alternatives, specifically in the realm of cosmetic surgery.

As with most cosmetic surgery procedures, insurance companies are choosing to view these procedures as elective. As such, for someone considering a liposuction, the expected price tag will cost somewhere between $1.5K and $7.5K. Unfortunately, very few people can afford to pay this in one installment or at one time.

To make matters worse, the cosmetic surgeon will require payment in the pre-operative stage of treatment. Of course, he or she would like to be paid in cash, as this assures the plastic surgeon of being properly paid.

However, not many people can pay before they undergo the liposuction procedure. As such, the surgeon usually offers other liposuction financing options to his or her clients. Most obvious, is the fact that the surgeon will accept either the patients credit card number or will take a personal check. Surprisingly, some doctor offices will also offer loans.

Of the 3 choices listed above, the loan option, if available, may be the best option for you. Many liposuction surgeon offices allow this form of payment as a way to entice clients to join their practices.

If the surgeon offers this option, there are two variables he is going to consider. The first is your credit score and the second is whether he or she feels that you will pay him or her back (Are you a good credit risk). If he or she feels that you will honor the loan schedule, this may be the option for you.

Even if this is not an option, there are still other liposuction financing alternatives out there. Specifically, there are companies that cater to those who need a cosmetic surgery loan. As an example of a plastic surgery loan, your monthly payment can be as low as $90 a month for a liposuction.

Lastly, if none of the other options are feasible, you can get a credit card that caters to plastic surgery financing. Since these cards are designed for these specific reasons, it may be a good alternative to check out.

With all the advertisements about liposculpture, laser liposuction and any other form of body sculpting, people think that the procedures are totally safe and free from any risk. They also believe that it is quick and painless. In fact, there are even claims that you can undergo the procedure under local anesthesia, lose the fats, tighten your skin and get back to your routine the same day. If this was as easy as they claim it to be, everyone would have tried it.

While it is a fact that laser liposuction is a breakthrough in the plastic surgery industry, not to mention it is more recommended than other surgical procedures, nothing will change the truth that it is still a surgical procedure that involves potential complications and risks.

Most of the laser liposuction risks are those similar to the ones gained from the traditional lipo procedure. With the association of laser, the heat can cause some problems. For instance, if the laser is prolonged near the skin, thermal injury or skin burns may be acquired.

One of the many laser liposuction risks is skin loss. Yes, if a surgeon uses the laser too aggressively in an area, the overlying skin may be damaged or lost. Real precision and expertise is key to achieving success in laser lipo. Skin burn is also a risk, but this occurrence is very rare if you have a good surgeon.

Another risk, and very common, is infection. Infection can be caused by any form of invasive equipment. Since the laser is inserted beneath the skin, antibiotic coverage and operating room precautions are a must. Anesthetic risks can also occur during the course of laser liposuction. There are numerous deaths during or after suction body and liposculpture procedures that were instigated by lidocaine overdose. Lidocaine is the anesthetic that is used to relieve pain during the liposuction procedure.

Contour deformities are also among the possible laser liposuction risks. Deformities such as depressions, bumps, wavy lines and lumps in the skin appear 20% of the time in the standard lipo procedure. But with laser liposuction, the 20% decreases. Another problem is the loose skin, particularly for those patients with poor skin elasticity. Loose skin is very common for a standard lipo operation. However, in laser lipo, loose skin is not that common, since the procedure is known for tightening the skin. If you have an inexperienced doctor, then this risk can definitely occur.

And last but not the least is the complication done by an inexperienced plastic surgeon. A professional is the only one credible enough to handle the equioments and procedures needed in surgery. If you want satisfactory results, then you should get a professional surgeon.

Most of these laser liposuction risks are natural. But all these risks may be lessened or totally eliminated when you choose a surgeon that has the right tools, skills and experience. You should do your homework and find out just how credible your potential performing surgeon is before you choose to undergo through him.
